Fiat is preparing to launch the new generation Fastback, scheduled to debut in Europe in 2025.

The model, part of a new product family from the brand, will be based on the Citroën Basalt and built on the Smart Car platform, a low-cost architecture shared among vehicles like the Grande Panda and Aircross. According to Fiat’s CEO in Europe, Gaetano Thorel, the Fastback will be one of two new models marking the brand’s renewal on the continent.

The coupe SUV, internally identified as project F2X, is expected to be revealed in the coming months, with a launch before the end of the European fiscal year. Alongside it is the Giga Panda (project F2U), a seven-seat SUV derived from the Citroën Aircross. Both follow a modular strategy, compared to a “Lego” system, using shared parts and components across different vehicles to reduce production costs.

The new generation Fastback will maintain its coupe look with a sloped roof and will be equipped with a 1.0 turbo flex mild hybrid engine.
